Seasonal Mailing Address

Hi Rick

I have a customer who mails a monthly newsletter. Many people go south in the winter, so they want their newsletter mailed to another address at a specific date. It may be possible that  some have more that 1 winter address. I am looking for an elegant way to have Access switch the address at the appropriate time.

Elegant is the goal, for I know that is what you do.
😉Thanks
John Davy

Cant you just do if Month(Date())> A certain month use the "winter" address? If they have more than one address to pick you'd have to specify a "primary" or something with a checkbox or ensuring it was the first or last address and use dmin/dmax always.

If Month(Date) >= 9 Then 'September to December, you could add in OR Month(Date) <=3 to cover the early winter months.
'Send newsletter but send to Winter Address if available
'If statement to see if they have more than one address, could use dcount
'or dlookup depending on your setup
            'Send to the determined address
        'End If
    Else
    'Send newsletter normally
    End If

Something like that

Could you not add a date(s) field to the address then lookup for that
Default to the full year.

Oh yea, if the specific date is unique for everyone, you'll need to add a date field, then you could do if Month(Date()) >= Month(NewDateField) or if it's just the same general winter months for everybody that has a winter address, than you could do my first solution.
