Messed Up

I am not sure what I did wrong. Spent over 5 hours figuring it but still cant get my form to work.

I have a table for invoices. I have made a query with the patient table and invoice table. Then I made a continuous form which I put in my main pt form linking it by ID from the pt table.

I also used Richards tech help where I can copy the previous line by a click of the button for ease of invoice entry in the subform . It worked perfectly for me for a while. It was kick ass proud moment.

Today I added some calculated fields in my query to get total so I cd collect payment .

This must have messed my database.

Now when I enter a new invoice in my subform, there is no new data in my query. But I see the new data in my Invoice table. When I close the form and reopen, I dont see the new entries in the subform . Somehow my query is not populating the new invoices and the new Invoice IDs.  The new entries shows up in the Invoice table with new Invoice IDs.  What did I do wrong?

Some extra info
My subform has the foreign key in the PtID field and I have defaulted it to look up the PtID from the parent form

When I click the new line for copy of previous line, it shows the last Invoice ID from the Query. It is not copying the previous line for me. The Query seems to be stuck and not getting new invoice IDs from the subform.

I will try and upload some images tomorrow. Its 4 am and I am so frustrated. Hope someone can help. I know its a silly mistake but I just cant figure it out

I know this isn't going to help but, eventually all Access Developers either have been, or will be, right where you are right now.
Think of it as a right of passage.  (Sorry to make light - I feel your frustration.  Been there! )

There are many reasons why your data might become not updateable.  See the Not Updateable video.

More than likely your query is to complex to allow your updating.

Did you create a new query and not change the forms record source to that new query?  That could explain seeing the data in one place but not another.

Yeah, without being able to see your database, this isn't something I can troubleshoot. I would say just go back to your last good backup and work forward from there.
