Forms Subforms

Is there a way on a subform to populate a field from a field in its parent form.  I am creating a database for my trucking business.  Each load I haul is in its own table.  I haul for numerous different customers(own table). Also Numerous different Products(Own Table) for different rates.  I have everything setup to pull all my unpaid loads for different customers into fields on a form, this gets populated through a query.  I want to make a form for an invoice and put my unpaid loads into that form as a subform(the gets its info from a query).  Then have the invoice number in the parent form get autopopulated back to each load number on the child form on that invoice.  I was thinking of making a field in the table that holds all of my load information that holds my invoice number.  How do I make the autonumber in the invoice automatically get filled in the Invoice# in the LoadT?

How to I get this to work?  Here is how my database is setup.  I have a form where I enter Load numbers from companies that give me business.  I have another form that enters all of the information that i need to get paid for that load.  Both forms store their data on the same table.  I have a few different queries to know what loads have been hauled, what loads that need to be invoiced, what loads have been paid ect... When I try to make a form to add an invoice number to it(this is an autonumber) i have the field where the invoice number goes set to the default value of the subform to the invoice number on parent form.  No luck

Can you upload some pictures of what you're trying to do? Snip & Sketch

The videos Kevin gave you should show you what you need to do. You should just be able to set the default value of the field in your subform to Forms!FormName!InvoiceFieldName

The load numbers and unload information on this form is entered on a different form.  I bring them together on a query and want to build an invoice off of this query. Is this possible?  How do i get the invoice number to relate back to each individual load?  The way it looks to me i have to go into each load number record and fill in the invoice number myself.

Spencar, did you say you have a separate table for each load, and a separate table for each customer? I think one of the first things we need to do is fix that. I would definitely NOT build a database that way.

That's a negative on the separate table on each load.  One table for all loads.  One for customers. One for drivers.  Also have a table for invoices and that's what I am having problems with.  I think I was taking the wrong approach and am on the right path now.  Adam gave me some help in AccessDev forum and I am headed in the right direction now.  Will add onto this if I stumble again.  Thanks for creating this site and helping all of us out.  Was reading some of the info on the Cust Sup page and hope your health is better now!
