Hi All,

Thought i'd share this. In the very early beginner classes, Rick shows how to switch of the warning messages that Access always shows when appending/deleting/modifying etc... records.

This was great for me BUT when tested on one of the clients machines, obviously, theirs wasn't switched off. Rather than go round all the PC's turning them off, you can switch them off at the database level. Just put this code into the "OnLoad" property of your form

Private Sub Form_Load()

Application.SetOption "Confirm Action Queries", 0
   Application.SetOption "Confirm Document Deletions", 0
   Application.SetOption "Confirm Record Changes", 0

End Sub

Private Sub Form_Unload(Cancel As Integer)

Application.SetOption "Confirm Action Queries", 1
    Application.SetOption "Confirm Document Deletions", 1
    Application.SetOption "Confirm Record Changes", 1

End Sub

This switches off the dialogues when the form is opened, then switches them back on when the form is closed. No need to visit each machine!

To affect the change permanently, just use

Private Sub Form_Load()

Application.SetOption "Confirm Action Queries", 0
   Application.SetOption "Confirm Document Deletions", 0
   Application.SetOption "Confirm Record Changes", 0

End Sub

Simple for someone in the know, but hopefully this'll help some newbies!

Image 1 is the options which are switch off
Image 2 is the type of message which is disabled

Thanks for sharing, Dan, but this should also be accomplished with:

DoCmd.SetWarnings FALSE
' do stuff here
DoCmd.SetWarnings TRUE


A lot easier to code. :)
