Duel Imperial and Metric Forms
Mark Pierce

Okay team,
I an application that needs to be in both imperial measurements and metric. Any suggestions on making a way to choose a default setup for each user? The database is installed on each laptop due to usages at remote locations.

Or is the best option to create two applications?

Thanks Alex, that helped and it can possibly get me there. However the end users in Europe dont work in imperial at all so they enter the measurements into the fields as metric numbers, so no conversion required for them. Also there are field headers that state the unit of measure such as "Length (lb per ft), these need to show the metric designation.
The system would need some type of way for the user to select the default of Imperial or Metric and then all fields on multiple forms and reports would be converted.

Do you have a UserT?
You could have another field that stores the selected measurement
Then base some logic on that

No user table but I do have a Units table.

So how are you going to determine which units to use for each user?

Since the application is issued out to each service tech on their laptop it would be a simple drop down box on the main menu to select the default system unit of measurement. Or since each tech has their own specific copy another less cool option would be two totally different versions of the system.

I am open to ideas for sure, I would think I am not the first Access User that has come across this issue.
