Error on DateAdd function

Hi Richard

Firstly thank you for your Youtube tutorials. I went from no experience to creating my own Access data base which my whole business runs off now. Also Im living in South Africa.

But as my business grew the number of addons did as well. So Ive checked out your DateAdd function and it is absolutely 100% what I need.

The only problem is once I do it, it gives me this error (see image). And no matter what I do or try the little bugger just dont want to go away.

The only difference I spotted is your CustomerSince date is in the format of ddmmyyyy and mine (set by default by Access if I chose date and time for my field) is yyyymmdd.

And Im not sure what to do because even if I try to google it nothing shows up that is of help.

So please Im begging you please help a desperate man out.

Kind regards
Dijon Pienaar

In your part of the world you may have to use semicolons (;) instead of commas (,).

X: DateAdd("m";6;[D])

Try it without using the alias D.

X: DateAdd("m",6,CommDATE)

Beyond that, run down the Troubleshooter.

Does this work with an example in a NEW database?

Does it work if you hard-code a date?

X: DateAdd("m",6,#1/1/2000#)
