Which video to watch

Hi Great Team. Question. Is there a video or template for this? If yes, please advise.
I create an invoice for a client. Let say $600.
Then a client send a payment for $350.
Now the invoice (report) shows "Total Invoice: $600"; "Payments: $350"; "Balance due: $250".
Then you run the Client's Transactions (in columns):

Invoice# Date   Description Charge Pmts  Balance
001     1/1/22  Mugs     600  600
Pmt1/5/22  by check   350  250

Then, the client send another payment of $100
The invoice (report) now shows  "Total Invoice: $600"; "Payments: $450"; "Balance due: $150".
The transactions now:

Invoice# Date Description Charge Pmts  Balance
001     1/1/22  Mugs600600
Pmt1/5/22  by check350250
Pmt1/7/22Zelle100150

Is there a video, template or seminar about this?
Thank you.

I was going to recommend Access Amortization Seminar but that seems too advanced for your situation. All you really need is a credit/debit entry linked to their invoice number.

A simple paymentsreceivedT should work
PaymentID Auto
InvoiceID Num
Description Short
Credit Currency

Then you can link all the payments made to that invoiceID.

Throw it on a subform child/master linked by invoiceID and you should be good to go.

From what I see above it looks like a basic Check Register might be enough.

If your needs are more complex and you need aging, reporting etc then the Accounts Receivable may be a better fit.

Access Time & Billing Seminar

To round out your accounting in your data base  - if you are looking to track payments out - for your own bills.

Thank you very much Adam and Scott. I am going to follow your suggestions. That was what I needed. Thanks again!

I already bought Check Register Seminar. I think I'm going on the right track. Thanks.
