Form Size Misbehaving
James McGann

Sometimes, when I create a Form, it looks like it's the size I intended it to be (let's say 3" by 5") in Design view, but when I switch to Form view it takes up the whole screen.     I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong (especially since it only happens sometimes).
I would really appreciate some help with this issue.

Hi James
Go into design mode on the form. You have Autoresize and Fit to screen. You may want to deselect each one. You also may want to consider AutoCenter. Close you form where you want it and it should be ok

John,
Thanks so much for replying to my question. I have three forms in this particular database and they all are behaving in the same way: All three look normal in Design view, but take up the whole screen in Form view. At your suggestion, I opened each in Design view and deselected the Autoresize, Fit to Screen, and AutoCenter properties.  I then saved and closed each form, then reopened each one. Alas, each of the three continues to take up the entire screen when opened in Form view. Any other suggestions?

James in addition to the size properties john suggested, Access also remembers the size you last closed the form at.

Resize the form like you want it and Save it.  The next time you open it, it should open to the size you saved unless you have something in your code to maximize the form.  If that is the case we'll need to track that down as well.
Take a look at the events for your forms that you are having issues with.  Are you opening them via VB code or a Macro?
Look around for a macro command that says "MaximizeWindow".
