Group by FirstName

Hello again,

I have several clients in a table, several of which have more than one record to their name.

I would like to create a report where the records are listed but grouped by FirstName(field) so that if for example: "Carmen" has 4 records, those 4 records are listed underneath her name and then the next group would be another client who might have 3 records to their name.

What lesson of Richard's can I use to study how to do this in MS Access?

Thank you in advance once again for the help.

Thank you Kevin for that information. I ran the lesson and did what Richard explains to do, however, I do not have 2 tables. I only have one table and when I create the Query for this table, the records for each client still list separately instead of being in a group. Is there any way I can list the events(contacts) for each client so they show up together like in the lesson? Thank you again for your help.

I am assuming the records should show up grouped already in the grid view before creating the actual report, though, I might be wrong.

You don't have to have 2 (or more) tables.  Richard brought the 2 tables into his query so that all of the information is together.  There is only ONE query.

Go back and watch the video Kevin referred you to.  Twice.
         First time just watch it.
Second time watch it while starting and stopping to follow the video. Use the database Richard provides.

Now that you've got that done - perform the same steps to your report using your data.
