New Record on Top

I have a Contacts form, which is opened from a button within another form.  When I click on New, to run the new on top VBA,
    DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec
    MeetingDate = Now()
    Me.Requery
    DoCmd.GoToControl "Description"

A new record opens, But the old record disappears, but is in the table?
If i just run  DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec this works OK with the record at the bottom, and all previous records displayed
If I drop the Contacts form directly into the form, everything works OK?
Any help would be greatly received.

Hi it is an orphan issue.  The button wizard joins the 2 IDs together, but it is not recognizing the relationship?

Set a Default Value for your ProjectID.

Set default value, but didn't help.
When i go into Data for the forms, there is no LinkMasterField or LinkChildField visible, this is what is the problem I think?  Although the button wizard linked the common ID (ProjectID)?

If you think based on watching the On Top video that might be your issue,   Try it Yourself.

Link Master Fields

There is no LinkMasterField or LinkChildField properties because it's not a Subform. Show us where you set the Default Value and what you set it to.

Set the Default Value of the ProjectID on the Form you are opening equal to the ProjectID on the other form.

From your images it looks like the Default Value should look something like this.
Forms!ProjectInputF!ProjectID

This assigns the ProjectID as the default now 11, but it does not form a relationship with the main form? still no LinkMasterField and LinkChildField?  All there if I drop the subform directly into the form, but not there when i create a button to open the form, although the wizard joined the two IDs.
