My question: I split the database (like you say to do),. but when i do this i cant change any default values
DiscT has a AbumId (FK), TrackT  has a DiscID, etc.
Help please Mr guru

The Default Value can be set on the Form.
What are you wanting to default too? Can you give an example?

This kind of sounds like a case where you may want to use the Dynamic Default.
If your default changes from time to time, but regularly.

If I'm not understanding correctly, please walk us through your process a bit. Sorry, but the photo doesn't mean anything to me.

Splitting your db

While it is a good idea to split your db in different situations, I actually don't agree with splitting your db too soon. Sometimes, not at all.  In other words, while you are making changes to tables and doing some heavy development, it can actually make life much more difficult.

When to split and why you want to split your db is kind of a fine line to determine.
Richard, Alex, Kevin, and Adam, what are your thoughts on when to split or not?

You know you have "Album" spelled wrong everywhere, right?

If you are the only user of your database, there's no need to split it, unless you want to move it online. And yeah, I agree that I usually wait until I'm mostly finished with building the database before I split it.

Yea I don't ever recommend splitting it unless you're ready to share it with multiple users. No real reason to. Unless like Richard said, if you wanted online access for some reason.
