Change data

I have a Zebra ZT-231 Label Printer that comes with it's own software for creating labels & printing them.

I'm interested in knowing if there's a way to use Access to change text in the textboxes in the Zebra software and save it.

Watch this Video, it will answer your question.

Thanks Sami, I don't want to make from scratch the labels. That would mean changing over 150 of them.

I basically need to change a textbox that contains an expiry date that gets changed weekly.

It would all be dependant on where the Zebra software stores its data. How it can be updated and if they have an API you can interact with which means it's less likely people on this forum would know, you'd be prob better off going to their forum instead.

A couple of things which might help:
Have you already entered the data into that software?
Why can't you just enter it in their software?

Hi Alex,

Basically the software they give me is like opening a word document on your desktop. All I do is create a label with the text being in textboxes then I save it & every week I just have to change the Expiration date for the product.

The reason why I want to do the changes on Access is because if you move the textboxes a bit then they print out wrong & by the time you realize the mistake It can be printing more than 500 labels.

What I want is a simple Access program that I can choose the product type in the date I want displayed on the label in the expiration textbox and then print it without anyone having to touch the actual textboxes.

Does the expiration date need to be hardcoded or can it be part of a parameter in a query?

See if your label software can import data from Access (or Excel).  If not, switch to one that can.  I used a Zebra label printer in my old job, and I used Wasp Labeler software that can import from Excel, after I export data from Access to Excel.  Access can't really "control" what a third-party software does.  Import/export is usually how it's done.

What do you mean if it's hardcoded?
