Search Form Criteria Problems
Michael Werth

I have created a database with several many to many relationships using join tables.  I have tried to follow Richard's conventions for naming and table/form/query design.  The tables all work fine.  My query works if I type the exact seach info into the criteria fields.  Now I am trying to create a search form like Richard uses in his lessons.  In the query, when I link the field in the search form to the query it works great.  The minute I add a second field to search on and run the quiery I get an error "Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'SubcontractorInfoT' where SubcontractorInfoT is my main table.  The criteria I am using is in the format "Like "*" & [Forms]![SubInfoQueryF]![SubDivSrch] & "*" Or Is Null".  If the answer is "Mike you're an idiot go watch lesson xx I'm OK with that.  Any thoughts?  TIA

I think I found my problem.  This is a database of construction companies.  One of the things we track is if the company is a union shop or not.  The field name was "Union".  Access doesn't like that.  I renamed that field to "IsUnion" (it's a checkbox) and the error went away.

That'll do it, here's a list of reserved words that might help in the future :). Reserved Words
