Help needed with Error 429
Marcelino Sanchez

2 years ago
Richard I followed your Tech Help Backup video step-by-step to figure out how to backup both my databases (front-end & back-end), but unfortunately I got an error. When I click the DoBackup button, I get the message: Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object.

When I click the debug button to redirects me to the code, placing me at the highlighted  line marked with the X==> at the start of the line below.

Private Sub DoCopy(SourceFile As String, DestFile As String)

    Dim O As Object

    X==>Set O = CreateObject("Scripting,FileSystemObject")
    Status "Copying " & SourceFile & " to " & DestFile
    O.CopyFile SourceFile, DestFile
    Set O = Nothing

End Sub

Is there a Reference Library I need to declare to fix this issue?

Is it a comma or is this a typo CreateObject("Scripting,FileSystemObject")

Do you have Option Explicit on?

Alex, I do have the Option Explicit On. I replaced the comma you pointed out with a period and now it throw me to the  "O.CopyFile SourceFile, DestFile" line with error 76: Path not found

Alex, thank you so much for your response. I figured it out. It was that simple comma. Once I made the change and came back in the backup ran smoothy. Have a blessed evening. Again thank you.
