I have a pretty big list that we've made over time in our database, but I wouldn't try to just import all of them anyways, I'd add them as you go, since inevitably you're going to get a strange import model or they make a new car and your going to have to add that anyways. I would make your combo boxes (we use one for year, make, model, engine size each with their own combo box and table) and limit to list so you don't get a bunch of typos (we were getting a lot of 1500 4x4, 4x4 1500, 1500 4wd stuff, just useless duplicates, better to force them into one way). Then have a process to add new things, for us there are a few users with the priveleges to use a button to add new entries, making sure they are responsible for checking spelling and entering proper data, if we just left it open to our mechanics to put what they wanted the data integrity would last about 20minutes.

All I need is current makes and models.  Do not need engine data as we only tracking vehicles in out community for security purposes.  Is your list available?

I could give you what I have, it's not a complete list and it's not related. It's a list of makes, then a list of models because of how we are using it. So you won't get Chevy + Silverado, you would get Chevy in a list of makes and Silverado in a list of Models with others. But I'll upload it if you want to try it, maybe it helps you some, maybe not.

There's also some sites out there like THIS if you want to paw through all the data, looks like they also have an API setup to call the list if that would make sense for your application.

On second thought I feel it's best if I create and gather my own data.  But thank you for your reply.
Mike
