VBA Command Not Working
Kevin Kronemeyer

I was following along with the Video for Helper Data and I typed in the command same as the video and it would not work. I was trying to add a new entry by double clinking on the Prefix box but nothing happens. Also, when I select the Prefix "Mr." it doesn't stay with the record. I have a screen shot but not sure how to post it here.

You should see now a box next to where you entered your post that says "Upload Image."

Sounds like something isn't set up right or linked to the proper field, so you will have to post some screenshots. You can't post them on your original comment, but you can post them as replies.

Hi Kevin
Post some code, for that's what we need.

You have too many quotes in your SQL statement.

HeadPersonCombo.RowSource ="SELECT PersonID, LF FROM PersonLFQ WHERE FamilyID=" & FamilyID & " ORDER BY LF"

Kevin Robertson, thank you for the correction on the code. I copied it into my DB and it still didn't work. I must have something else going on that I am not seeing.

HeadPersonCombo.RowSource = "SELECT PersonID, LF FROM PersonLFQ WHERE FamilyID=" & FamilyID & " ORDER BY LF"

Spacing and quotes are very important. In fact, it's easy to miss the fact that you need one before " ORDER BY" so I'm going to rewrite it like this:

HeadPersonCombo.RowSource = "SELECT PersonID, LF " & _
    "FROM PersonLFQ " & _
    "WHERE FamilyID=" & FamilyID & " " & _
    "ORDER BY LF"

Thank you for the assistance, not sure why but even copy and paste your code into it, it still will not work. I am wondering if I have mismatched field names with the code? I've tried printing everything out and verifying it but still a No Go. I will keep working at it.

I'm just getting back in to DB's. I started with them a VERY long time ago and then stopped so it is taking me a little while to get back into making sure my I's are dodded and T's are crossed.
