Into to VBA Now or Later

Is now a good time to start familiarizing myself with VBA?

In the future, I want to put my database online, so I want to lay the groundwork now. I'm already on Expert 2, and I'm advancing at a consistent clip.

When I reviewed the Access SQL Online Seminar (just to get an idea of what's to come), I saw that VBA was strongly recommended. One security and THREE SQL seminars were also recommended, but for developer-level participants. I'll cross that bridge in due course.

So, that leaves me with VBA. However, being that I'm still only at Expert 2, perhaps I need to keep my eye on the prize and stay focused on the main course for now? Or perhaps there's no harm in starting now? Decisions, decisions!

What would you advise?

Ahh, on second thought, maybe I'll put off VBA for the time being.

Just came across the paragraph below while doing some extra reading. Ha!

Well, at least I know now.

I'm not sure what you mean by "database online", if your goal is to use Access as the front end with your database, with just using SQL server to store the data in the backend online, then I'd just keep trucking along and not worrying about VBA just yet, you'll probably catch onto a few of the simpler commands soon. If your goal is to use a different front end like ASP with vba on a website, and not use the access front end, then you could probably skip ahead a bit and start learning some vba now.
