Names with an apostrophe

Hi. I'm pretty sure that this query must have been addressed before but I'd be grateful if someone would enlighten me or point me in the right direction.
I run a database of club members. We have one member with an apostrophe within their name - O'Brian - which does not show up in queries. I have even tried just removing the apostrophe but it will still not show in the query.
Any suggestions please. Thanks.

Need more information. What is the query? Any criteria?

If it will not show up if you remove the apostrophe, then the apostrophe is not the problem.

I think you will need double quotes
strSQL = "SELECT * FROM Persons WHERE Name = "" & personName & "'';"

Let me know this is a long shot for me.

Do you mean just regular, standard Access queries? I've never seen that happen before. Usually there are problems with SQL or linked table to SQL Server, but never just with a simple Access query to a local table.

Hi all. Thanks for the replies and sorry for the delay. Had a few computer problems but sorted now I hope. I'll work my way through your suggestions.
Richard - The query has a couple of 'calculated' fields. I'll re-write the query, one filed at a time, and try to find out where it's going wrong.
Other queries do not seem to be affected. I'll re-post with results.
Regards.

Hi all. I re-did the query from scratch and now it works fine. Still not sure what the original problem was but thanks for all the pointers. Regards.
