order dates

I am currently working through Expert level 12.  I created an order list form and was playing around with it and I noticed that when I edit an order (add an item to an existing order) the order date in the form stays at the original date (defaulted to current date), however, if the edit was done at a later date, the order is split in the OrderListF with the edit showing the date of the edit but the order number staying the same. Will Mr Rost address this in a later lesson or is there something I can do to prevent this?

Hi Tim
Have you watched Richard's videos on invoicing? They are great. Basically, he has an OrderT table with basic order information such as the OrderID and the date the order was placed and then he created an order detail with has the specifics of the order such as the items. The date of the order doesn't get changed because it is in the OrderT. The OrderDetailF becomes a subform within the order table. Watch the video, for it will help.  John

Thanks John
Yes, I have been working through those videos and you are right, they are great.  The problem I am having is not in the order form or table, but in the orderlistF (created in level 12, lesson 1).  The order form keeps the correct order date but the orderlist separates the edited part of the order with the date that the edit was done (see photo).

We will need to see the DESIGN of your form, any queries associated with the form, any relevant properties and any VBA code (or Macros) you may have. Seeing the Form in Form View only doesn't help much in the way of troubleshooting.

Thanks Kevin, I will remember that for next time. Following are photos of design mode for all relevant forms, and their properties.  Currently there are only a very few macros relating to the buttons (simple ones that open the forms, etc.).
I have a 'transparent' button over the line items in the OrderListF that opens the OrderF for that order.  RR uses a button on the footer but i like the hidden one over the line item.  That is the only real difference in what he teaches in Expert 12 and what I have   in my OrderListF.

One thin you mentioned Kevin, that made me take a closer look, was to check my queries.  I found that I had put the wrong date field in the query.  I fixed that and now it works.  Thanks for the help.
