A client told me today that my receivables report had a 'bug' because the company footer did not show totals for all the transactions. The client asked for a start and end date range for this report. The outstanding receivable transactions are grouped by company with totals by year for all the company transactions. (The receivables are very old.) These totals are in the company group footer. Because the date range limits the transactions, the company section footers include the same date range.

This conforms to how Access 'works,' yet I hate telling clients something 'can't be done.' I've been mulling this over and don't immediately see how I'd give the client what they imagine. Perhaps I'm overlooking the obvious. Is it doable? How would you include all transactions in a group footer but limit the transactions in the group to the user's date range?
