Search Phone Number

I have created a Customer contact Database. My Phone Number search is Set up like this inside a query:
"*"Like"*" with the appropriate other criteria.
It only works if I enter all 10 Digits like this: xxxxxxxxxx. It will bring back any number that I am searching for just fine if it is the database. It wont look for partial numbers, such as area code, xxx.I thought using the Like in the query criteria, it wouldnt  matter if all 10 digits are entered or not.
What did I do wrong?
Thank you.

"with the appropriate other criteria" - this information could be helpful.

The wildcard characters should be after the Like keyword.
Example
   Like "*" & [Forms]![MainMenuF]![PhoneSearch] & "*"

I'm sorry, i didn't think I would need to do that here. I have set that in the criteria already. As I said, it works great, but only if I enter all 10 digits.
Thank you.

I have around 15 records in my CustomerT table. When I use my search form, it will find the record if and only if I enter all 10 digits like this, xxxxxxxxxx, just like I have set in my table. iF i enter it like  this, xxx (area code) xxx (Prefix) or xxxx (Last Four) it wont find anything.  All 10, it's  works just fine.

David,

Please send a screenshot of your query in design view

One possibility is that you should only store the value of xxxxxxxxxx with no formatting and as a short text string.   not as a number.

The sami's example will work.  You'll need to name the fields accordingly
Like "*" & [Forms]![NameOfYourForm]![NameOfYourPhoneSearchField] & "*"
