Using the Data Types Symbols

You may have seen some methods written as Left$(...) and not Left(...)

$ version returns a String, and the non $ version returns a variant

Here is a list:

	Private Sub Form_Load()
		variable1=Dir$(some_path)
		variable1=Dir(some_path)
		variable1=string(Dir(some_path))
	End Sub
