Welcome to another video quiz brought to you by Access Learning Zone.

This one's for expert-level users.

I've got five questions covering SQL. You'll have three seconds to answer each question. Hit that pause button if you need more time. Keep track of your score.

Are you ready? Here we go.

Question 1. Which SQL clause is used to sort the records returned by a query?

Where? Order By? From? Or Select?

That's going to be Order By.

Question 2. What does the asterisk mean in this SQL statement?

Select * From CustomerT.

Is it return all fields from CustomerT? Return only records with an ID value? Sort the records alphabetically? Or return only calculated fields?

It is return all fields from CustomerT.

Question 3. What is the purpose of a Where clause in a Select query?

It changes the names of fields in the table. It determines the order of returned columns. It limits the records returned to those meeting a condition, or it permanently deletes records that do not match.

This option C limits the records returned to those meeting a condition.

Question 4. An SQL row source for a combo box: what determines the order of the columns returned by the query?

The order of the fields in the source table design? The field used in the Order By clause? The order in which the fields appear after Select? Or the combo box's Tab Order property?

That will be C, the order in which the fields appear after Select.

And question 5. Assume every field comes from CustomerQ, and none of the field names contain spaces. Which edit can shorten this SQL statement without changing its results?

A, remove CustomerID from the Select list? B, remove the From CustomerQ clause? C, replace Select with Order By? Or D, remove the CustomerQ prefixes and square brackets?

That's going to be D, remove the CustomerQ prefixes and square brackets.

All right, how'd you do?

Did you merge with the machine and become something magnificent? Or did you ask the giant space cloud if it found the missing clings?

Well, if you missed any, these topics and a lot more are covered in Access Expert Level 3, Lesson 1, all about SQL.

Thanks for playing. Post your score in the comments down below. And try not to let your Select statement disappear into the cloud.

Until next time, live long and prosper.
