It's time for another video quiz from Access Learning Zone. This one's for beginner-level users.

I got five questions covering Access forms. You'll have three seconds to answer each question. Hit that pause button if you need more time, and keep track of your scores so we can see how you did at the end.

Are you ready to save Metropolis? Alright, here we go.

Question 1. You change the label besides a text box from first name to first space name. What changes?

The underlying table field is renamed.
Only the label displayed to the user changes.
Access creates a second first name field, or the text box becomes unbound.

That is B. Only the label displayed to the user changes.

Question 2. Staff members need to enter customer information, but they should not see the customer's credit limits. What is the best form design choice?

Delete the credit limit field from the table.
Change credit limit to an auto number field.
Leave credit limit off the staff form.
Put credit limit in the form header.

That is C. Leave credit limit off the staff form.

Question 3. Saving and reopening a bound form, which view is normally used to enter and edit its records?

Form view, layout view, design view, or print preview.

That is going to be A. Form view.

Question 4. A user edits a record on a bound form, and the pencil icon appears. What normally happens when the user moves to another record?

The edit is discarded automatically.
Access saves the edit only when Control+S is pressed.
The form becomes read-only until reopened.
Access saves the changed record to its underlying table.

That will be D. Access saves the changed record to its underlying table.

And question 5. You want to display many records at once with the same custom set of controls repeated for each record. Which type of form is designed for that?

A single record form, continuous form, split form, or a modal dialogue form.

That is a continuous form.

Alright, how'd you do? Did you get all five right? Did you save Metropolis before your cape hit the ground? Or is your glasses disguise still loading?

Well, if you missed any, these topics and a lot more are covered in Access Beginner Level 1, Lesson 10, all about building a customer form. It's completely free on my website and on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for playing. Post your score in the comments below and let us know whether Lex managed to edit your records.

And until next time, live long and prosper.
