Access End of Life

My IT department just informed me that Access is supposed to go End of Life "sometime this year". Anyone else hearing this? Or is this just something they say to dissuade folks from using the program?

It's your IT dept being a bunch of [BLEEPS]. If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that, I could buy myself a REAL nice steak dinner somewhere classy.

Now certain VERSIONS of Access have an end-of-life date. For example, Access 2021 will be retired on 2026-10-13. That's normal for ALL Microsoft applications, even Word, Excel, and Windows itself. But no... Access isn't going anywhere, anytime soon.
