I have a problem with leading spaces. I have a combobox and I have two thousand names plus to enter into it.
I already have the names I need mixed with other text in another field.
To speed things up I thought it would be easier just to cut and paste the name I need into the combobox on the form.
If I already have the name it's added, and if it is not then my Not In List routine fires up and a new entry is added.
Unfortunately if I have a leading space I have a new record I may not want.
I tried Trim (NewData) inside the Not In List routine. It did not work.

What if the name already exists without the space then the Not In List would not have fired.
I tried Trim (DirectorCombo) in the Before Update. That did not work, Not In List fires first.
I am entering data slowly and checking carefully at the moment. Not that that is a bad thing!

Do you have any ideas. Some times I cannot see the wood for the trees.
I thought of adding an extra textbox and checking it first, then passing it to the combobox.
That seems like cracking an egg with a sledge hammer. Any advise would be appreciated.
