Multiple Search Fields
David Torrey de Frescheville

Hi - I want to find out where I can learn how to create a form that where a user can enter search criteria for multiple fields using combo boxes, then when they hit a SEARCH button, it performs all those searches (on one table) and then opens up another form (a continuos form) with all the search results. I purchased the Search Seminar but don’t see anything like this in the lessons. Am I missing something? Is this the best way to perform this search? I don’t want to use a “filter” type of search in the header because I have about 50 fields to search. Thank you!

Lesson 14 in the Search seminar covers the core concept that you are looking for.

I have a nice Search created that allows you to search multiple fields as well as using up to 8 search words and the words dont have to be spelled in full.   I use it everyday in my programs and it works great.  Not sure how to upload the files, but if you contact me I will be happy to share!  JM

You can't upload files to my site (aside from images), nor share your contact info except on the DevNet and Template Marketplace pages. So if you'd like to post your info there, be my guest. I'm trying not to turn my Forums into a giant billboard.
