With the help of Richard’s teaching and this site, I know enough about Access to be dangerous. As a non programmer and someone who doesn’t get into deep code daily, I tend to make the simple complicated. Case in point, I have a button on a form that I use to send emails to customers I have called on that day. It sends out a specific message based on the call type entered on the call information form. I created a query for this and my code uses a record set to parse the data. My first rendition had a couple of check boxes because I could call on different people at each customer and I only wanted to send the email to the person I spoke with that day. So I wanted to be able to hit the button and it automatically select the person I spoke with that day and send them an email without the use of the checkbox. Too many steps.  I wrestled with it for several days trying to use an If Then statement in the record set but I struggled with where to put it and how the syntax would be. Then one day I was looking at the code and I thought to myself, just change the query. So I looked at the query. The two tables I used for the query had the customers accountid and contactid in them and the join was by accountid by default. I still couldn’t figure out how to get it to work!  Then I remembered Richard changing the join fields in a query he used so I deleted the join for accountid and joined by contactid and it worked perfectly!  Such a simple solution but in my mind in the beginning it had to be more complex. This is what I love about what this site has done for me. I have always been someone who enjoys analysis and how to make processes more efficient and productive but this site is teaching me how to solve complex problems I know little about and how to think outside the box and be creative in their resolution. I have taken this into my day job and it has made me a much better more well rounded person allowing me to reach and exceed the goals I have set for myself. Thanks to all!  I have said it before but this community is special! Thanks for always being kind and understanding to those of us who don’t do this for a living but love it anyway!! To all, have a wonderfully amazing day!
