Compact and Repair Backend in Sharepoint
Jennifer Nield

Hi
I created a Database that is split, Front-End on desktop and Back-End in SharePoint as the Front-End will be sent to other users to access.
How do I Compact and Repair if the Back-End is up on SharePoint? Do I do it in the Front-End?
Sorry if it's a stupid question.

Why do you want to Compact and Repair?

Oh because Richard has said so in a few of his Access lessons .
I've done a lot of deleting while developing this database which is ready now for my team to use.
I just want to make sure it is in good shape.

It's a little different when it's in SharePoint.
Is it a SharePoint List that you're connecting to or is the db just stored in a documents folder?

That's an Access only thing, for the local db.

There is probably an equivalent for SP but I don't know what it is, or if it's just automatically handled by MS behind the scenes.
Other dbs have the equivalent like the VACUUM command.

Ok thanks Alex, I won't worry about it then.
