Access 2010 Runtime Record Navigator

Hi Rick,

I tried to run the 2007 Developer Extentions but it doesn't run without Access 2007. That question answered.

I already had the 2010 version installed at my PC.

I tried to make a runtime version of my WineCellar database but did run into a couple of messages:
First: Microsoft Access was unable to create the .accde, .mde, or .ade file
Second: This error is usually associated with compiling a large database into an MDE file.  Because of the method used to compile the database, a considerable number of TableID references are created for each table.  The Access database engine can only create a maximum of 2048 open TableIDs at one time.  Exporting a database as an MDE potentially can exceed this limit if the database has a large number of objects (table, macro, form, report, etc).
There is no accurate method to estimate the number of TableIDs the Access database engine uses during the process of compiling a database as an MDE.  However, each VBA module and each form uses one TableID, as a result, if the database has 500 forms, and each form's HasModule property is set to Yes, as many as 1,000 TableIDs are used.

Next I tried the LoanAmortizer
A small Database we created in the Access 2003 classes.
No messages this time, but guess what: running the accde file I am able to open the tables and even make changes in them.
Not good I suppose, could it be this is caused because there is no menu?

Could it be that I installed Access 2010 in 64 bit mode, using XP? But MS would have seen that while installing, wouldnt it? I cant remember and since there is no uninstall I can find re-installing seems not possible either.

Either way, I am out of options, can you help me out?

Thankx,
Eddy

Reply from Richard Rost:

I've built some pretty complex databases and I've NEVER come close to exceeding the 2048 table limit. I think the biggest database I ever built had 200 tables in it. This one is easy: consolidate, split, or use SQL Server.

Creating an ACCDE file does NOT lock the tables or queries. It only encrypts the forms, reports, macros, and your module code.

I don't believe you can install 64-bit under Windows XP. You can find out which version of you have under File > Help > About Access.
