Hi, I am building a database to help me take control of the receiving dpt and I want access to show automatically the time at the moment I put the PO# (when the truck driver shows at the receiving window to get access to the company)and the time and at the moment I put how many pieces of material we received (time when the truck is leaving the company)so I can know the time we spent unloading that truck, but when I begin to put information on the record access shows on the time on the next record

Yeah, that pesky NOW() function puts the default value in the NEXT record as soon as you start editing the current new record. The only easy way around it is to make yourself a button to set the time. It's easy. Just make a Command Button with one line of code:

CheckInTime = Now()

Then do the same for your CheckOutTime field.
