On my form i have a combo box, that lists my customers names, as i type it auto fills, works great, but if i have a new customer, the new name wont auto fill, which is normal because its not in the table yet, but i want to handle the error as i tab out, i have it set up to open my customer entry form to input the new customer, using VBA and not in list event,  but i have not found any way to null the text i put into the combo field automatically, i have tried null, or "", but it comes back as saying cannot assign null to a varient. etc. thanks
