Split Database and Sharepoint
Antonio Iozzo

I have a Database that I split and have the backend stored on a SharePoint site. We have separate front ends. The issue I am having is that every time I am using the database and my coworker is at the same time, it creates a separate back end with the computer name in the title.  Is there something I can do to prevent it from creating multiple back ends?

Is the Backend database in the document library on SP?  If not, where is the backend stored?

What you really want to do is push/export your Access tables to SharePoint to create the "lists" on the site.  Then link those lists back to the Access backend database.  Then give each person a copy of the backend database.  You could actually just do this in each of your frontend databases, that being have the tables linked to the SP site. Then each Frontend copy has those lists.  You have to set those users up in the SharePoint site for this to happen....

I have run this type of setup for over two years. BE is a shared SharePoint collection of lists. The FE then links to these. Actually works well for a small group but a real challenge if you ever want to move those lists to SQL Server.
