I just want to be able to direct the user of the DB to find all the files associated with the record to one location. The button should be able to open the folder that has all the documents associated with the record. These documents include, pdf and word documents. I don't want to import these in the DB rather just allow the user to open the folder and its contents.

BACKGROUND
All folders are titled by the project name and each folder will contain specific documents pertaining to the project. I.e. PDF, word docs.... Sort of an electronic filing system. The DB will be used to enter all projects that have been completed and e-filed with its corresponding documents on a shared LAN. Users should be able to see year to date completed projects and any projects that are missing required documentation. The  button will be used to direct the user to the folder that contains all files associated with said project/record.

Oh, you just want to open the folder in, say, Windows Explorer? Use the SHELL command.
