Combo Box Add New Record
Lee Shastid

I have a combo box on a form for Brand on my Home Inventory DB. When I enter a brand name and its not in the list and then I go to add it, the box always opens up to the first entry line.
Is there a way to have that cursor go to the next available space for Brand name entry instead of the first place?

Are you using a list items edit form? If so, you can put the following command in the On Load or On Open event of the form:

DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec

There's no way I can think of to do this without some VBA.

This has actually been on my list for a TechHelp video for a while. But I'll probably get to it after I finish the fitness series.

That helped when opening the form. I like that. Thank you. I dont think I explained what I wanted to do correctly. After opening the form and starting to enter my data and I choose brand and type a brand in the box I get the message asking if I want to edit the list. I choose YEs and when the box opens to add the brand it always goes to the first entry, and then I have to scroll down 100+ brands to get to the next box to type another brand. I want to see if I can go straight to the next available box instead of scrolling down.
