I have a search form based on a query.

It's for a database of employees.

Basically, when I enter a name into the form, I want it to bring up a list of the employees with the surname of eg smith.

Then I need to be able to double click on the right person in the list and that needs to open the record in the right form.

I've done this in Access 2003 but now I'm using 2010.

For some reason, when I search, it's not bringing the list of names into the required box, it just shows all names.

I've searched the net high and low and read Access books but none of them show how to create this list based on what you're searching for within the form.

How do you have this set up? By the "required box" do you mean that you're loading the search results into a LIST BOX? If so, I cover this in my SEARCH SEMINAR. The easiest way to do this is to have the list box based on a query with a criteria in it. This criteria can be something you type in at a prompt or get from a form field.
