Using Tempvars in Query Criteria

Hi all. Been a while, but been working on optimizing my db. Had a question. I want to use a tempvar in a query criteria, but I need to set the criteria with a couple of conditions. Typically I would put the criteria as "condition1" or "Condition2" I figured I would set a tempvars in vba and pass that to the query criteria field, but I can't figure out how to add the 'or'.

Any thoughts?

Yes, I know that and I can use the tempvars!varname in the query criteria to set as a single condition. What I am trying to do set the tempvars to "created" or "Submitted" or "approved" as one string so that the query criteria recognizes it as on string with 2 or statements. I don't know how to add the OR to the string so query criteria recognizes it.
