Equipment Access

In my data base i have 4 Tables An EquipmentT Table, An EmployeeT Table, a CheckoutTable and a EquipmentAccessT Table

There is a Relationship set up that Relates EmployeesT and EquipmentT in the CheckoutT so employees can check out equipment. I also have another Relationship set up that relates EquipmentT and EmployeeT to the EmpEquipAccessT. In the Employee Form i have 2 subforms one  subform  checks equipment out to that employee and the other is a form shows what Equipment They can check out by the EquipmentID.  What I m trying to figure out is how to get the Checkout Subform to check the data in the EmpEquipAccessT  to see if the Employee can check out that equipment .  The EmpEquipAccessT Table has the fields AccessID, EmpID, EquipmentID, AllowAccess. Allow Access is a yes/no Value so the data would look like this  AccessID =1 EmpID=1 EquipmentID = 10000 AllowAccess=True,  AccessID=2 EmpID=1 EquipmentID=10001, Allow Access=True and so on.  So if employee 1 does not have EquipmentID 10002 listed in the EmpEquipAccessT Table, In the checkout subform when they enter 10002 under that employee it will message box them that they are denied that equipment and it undoes the record in the checkoutT  Table. I hope this makes sense because  it s hard to explain something like this.

Reply from Richard Rost:

This sounds like a job for DLOOKUP. In whatever event you're using to add equipment, perform a DLOOKUP to see if that employee has access to check out that item.
