Combo Box and Text Box

I have a combo box that I select data in a form(EmployeeCombo), and I use the code =[EmployeeCombo].[Column](2)in a text box to show the data in that column automatically in the text box; it works fine, but is there a way to store that data in the table?
Should I add more to the code, or is there a different way to accomplish this?
Maybe a DLOOKUP?

I'm not sure if Column(2) should actually be saved. I assume that the row source of the combo box already exists somewhere as a data record, possibly even as a table itself. Is that correct? If so, it would actually be sufficient to save the ID of the combo box, e.g. EmployeeID. And we would already have that if the combo box is bound, i.e. has a control source.

That is technically correct, but what I'm trying to do ( maybe I'm doing it wrong), I have a table that has all my employees, and a table that has all my properties. I have a subform on the properties form that has the employees who can deal with those properties; they are bound by Property IDs. The subform that I use for those employees who can handle those properties is bound to a different table. (EmployeesTrainedT)
The dropdown and the text boxes are bound to the employee table (not the EmployeesTrainedT) that shows all my employees
The EmployeesTrainedT doesn't save the data that I get from the other table. (I'm doing something wrong, just not sure what.

If I understand you right, I think what you need is a many-to-many relationship. Check out this video. Many-to-Many
