Count of Groups in a Report, Groups Not Records
Robert Blanchette

Screen capture will follow.
I have a report that has 2 levels of grouping, a group having multiple lines of detail.
When I ask for a count of the records, I end up with the total number of records.
When I use the "show no details" of the report, I still see the total number of records.
I would like to see only the number of lines (groups) shown.
I tried my best to describe the problem with the annexed screen capture.

Use the Header/Footer of the Group to get the number of records in that Group.

Kevin
Sorry, I just uploaded the screen shot which will (I hope) clarify my need.

I need to see the number of lines in the report without details as opposed to the number of records.
Thanks

Is this what you are looking for?

Numbered Report Items cover the Running Sum property.
To hide the details make the section not visible.

Thanks for your rapid response and the time you spent on this. I easily can reproduce what you suggest. However, I have some issues reproducing it with my own report. I will work on it some more and let you know how it goes. Thanks again. Please do not close this post for the moment

My report now looks exactly as I wanted it to. I struggled to have a count of the groupings.

Let's say I have Group 1 and Group 2.
Easy to get the number of records in group 2 in the footer of group 2.
I struggled to get the number of distinct group 2 in the footer of group 1.

Thanks again
