Combo Box Dropdown Not Refreshing Properly

I have a bound combo box in a datasheet subform.  I'd like to have the drop down list filter for the text in the on change event.  I modified and used the code from the Fitness Database Lessons 36-40.  My combo box glitches and doesn't filter the list and erases as I key up or down.  I did use the code that checks for keycode 38 & 40 as you suggested, but it still glitches.  I created a pdf of the code and the combo box settings if you would like to see what I'm doing wrong.  Appreciate any help.

It sounds a bit like things are going slightly wrong with the key up/key down event?
It could help us if you share your code?
I was thinking about maybe sharing the code I'm using but I can't see put it into a code window type thing?
Am i missing something there or does the system figure it out and do it automatically?

Thanks Debbie.  I think those are the relevant events.  If there is anything that could shed light on the problem I'll provide it!

This is the bit I struggle with. Articulating my thoughts on something I'm not physically hands on with.

My thinking is:
in the "cboCategory_Change" event, the line...

If IsNull(TempVars("ArrowKeyPressed")) Then TempVars("ArrowKeyPressed") = False

If the TempVar is Null then set it to False, only the TempVar is, initially, set to False in the "cboCategory1_Keydown" event.
This shouldn't be a problem though as either way it False at that point.
I think the problem, or a piece of the problem, is with the "cboCategory_AfterUpdate" event.
in there you are setting the "TempVar" to True.

Something in the firing order of "Change" and "AfterUpdate" is is getting messed up by that "True" bit and it's interfering with being able to use the arrow keys?
Try commenting out that line and see what happens?

Thanks Debbie!  I'll try it and let you know.  Initially I built the event code exactly like the video showed (or at least I think I did).  When it didn't work, I stepped through the code to try and see what was happening.  It seemed like that tempvar had the value true when it should have been false.  So I started to make changes.  I'll restore it to the original code and build a status bar instead of stepping thru and using debug print.  Wish me luck!
