Adding multiple items at one time
Don Wright

Hello Richard,
I am playing around with a check register in Access 2010.  I am having a problem with one thing - how to handle multiple item deposits.
I have my RegisterT set up like a paper register: Date, Description, Check No.,Withdraw, Deposit etc.  Plus I would add fields for my accounts and subaccounts: eg account (Auto0 and subaccts Fuel, Repairs, etc.
And I should be able to run reports about my spending in each category.  But my problem is my deposits.  Sometimes I may just deposit my paycheck.  Easy peasy.  But I may have several checks to deposit: my pay check, my wife's paycheck, a rebate check, and some money my neighbor is paying back to me.  This may all go in the bank as a single deposit, but how do I capture the proper categories?

Any ideas?  I'm really stumped on this one.
Thanks,
Don

Reply from Richard Rost:

You would need a 2nd table for this. DepositT and DepositItemsT. The DepositT would handle information as the bank sees it (deposit amount, date, etc.) and the DepositItemsT would be the specific items in each deposit for your OWN tracking.
