Access.exe

Hello Richard,
Can you please remind me as to just how the Access .exe would work?
Would the person need to already have Access on their computer, or does it just run on it's own?

Thank you.

To run the database they would need a minimum of Access Runtime. If the person is to do any development of the database they would need their own paid copy of Access.

Access Runtime

This would be an end user Database, with no access to be able to make design changes. just adding data and tracking the data. Just adding their data, and making reports and or printing reports. My misunderstanding, I thought thats what an .exe file is, to be able to run on it's own.

Designing their own reports?

David David, the .exe thing is a common misunderstanding. Access databases don't turn into standalone programs. Even an ACCDE still needs Access Runtime at a minimum in order to run, and if someone wants to design or modify forms, queries, or reports, they need the full version of Access. Runtime is only for using the database, not designing it.
