Conditional Formatting in Combobox
Amir Ouranus

Hello,
I have a form for our employees. In the form I have a Combo Box that has 4 options:
Active, Inactive, Terminated, Transferred.

I would like to have the field turn Red if the person in Terminated and yellow if Transferred.
I tried to use Conditional Formatting but the field does not change color.

So my question is; Is conditional Formatting possible on a Combo Box?
If yes; What am I doing wrong?
And how do I fix it?

As usual thank you in advance for your help.

Amir.

Conditional formatting WILL work on a combo box, however it only works for the selected value, but not in the drop down list. Once you select something, whatever value is in that selection's bound column will be what conditional formatting uses to format what is displayed in the text box portion of the combobox.

Hi Donald,
For some reason it's not working.
I have Filed Value is     equal to     "Terminated"
I have set the background color to Red.
But nothing happens.

If you want to specify the actual status you have to specify the column.
Remember the value that's usually stored in the table is the ID.
This is the value of the field not the text that is displayed.

As an example, use Expression Is

  [cboStatus].[Column](1)="Active"

Or you can specify the ID
Field Value Is | equal to | 4
