Northwind

I'm trying to "deconstruct" the Northwind Starter Edition. There is a report "rptSalesByProduct". Below the heading is a text box which shows the dates for the report. This is fed (I think) from one or other of the many macros and modules. When the report is viewed in Design Mode only a code appears. I have attached screenshots in Design Mode and normal view. Can anyone help me understand how this actually works [I would like to amend the text slightly, but in general I'm trying to change a lot of things.

Are there any events being used on the Report?

That date info may be coming from the frmReports form

There is a Label (lblCriteria).  It has code to fill this in the OnOpen event of the report

Thanks Tom and Alex. I found the answer in the "On Open" event, see attached screenshot.
I have to confess that I've emailled RR suggesting a series to help relative novices  or at least non-experts, use templates like to MS ones (Northwind for example). My point was that Northwind could be used to run a business, but only if that business operated in exactly the same way as Northwind. Obviously that will never be the case, so to adapt it to suit another business is always necessary, but the way the geniuss' at MS have built it, that is far from easy.

So Northwind was developed to showcase features of Access.
Rich like many others picked it apart to learn how it worked, long before the internet. Then made his own videos his own way to teach features. It probably wouldn't be worth trying to adapt it as you'd need to take a majority of it but take the concepts you need and apply to your own

This thread is now CLOSED. If you wish to comment, start a NEW discussion in Northwind 2.
