Query Relationship Issue
Lee Shastid

Can anyone tell me what is wrong here. I have this query designed and the results only shows one Dealer when there should be a different name on some of them. I have tried all three options on the joins but can not figure out what I am doing wrong. attached are screenshots.

I would remove the Join you have between the VehicleT to the VehicleDealerT (VehVendorID - VehicleDealerID)

Make a Join from those same tables on the VehicleID [VehicleT] to VehicleID [VehicleDealerT].

Then make sure your join type is correct for both Joins.

Ok. I tried a query with just the VehicleID [VehicleT] to VehicleID [VehicleDealerT] and this is what I found out. If i choose join1 i get no results on my query, join 2  Get all data return except Dealer, join 3 i get Dealer only

It looks like you added another table and relationship to your query.

Any time you're having issues with your query, you should strip it down into smaller queries and get those working correctly.

Also... you have joins from different tables going to the VehicleDealerT, which will not work.  This is why you're getting the error message.

I would start with the VehicleT and VehicleDealerT.  Join those with the VehicleID, make sure that is working.

Then add the VehicleNotebookT matching the VehicleID, make sure that works.

Then add the VehicleExpenseTypeT matching the VehExpTypeID.

I am just starting over. It was getting all kind of crazy trying to figure out the joins. I only have four tables total. I will try and figure it out again if not then I quit...Thank you for your help

Does VehicleDealerT only have one entry for each dealer, E.g. "Cleburne Ford"?  If so, what exactly is the [VehicleID] in that table?

Lee Oops, I see Richard is helping you in another thread.

I went back to the basics and started over. That's when I reposted and Richard responded. Just something small I must be missing. I recreated my tables and kept them simple just to get them to work. VehicleT[VehicleID] to DealerT[VehicleiD] 1 to many Relationship. join 1 no results on query join 2 only vehicle info returns, and join 3 only dealer info returns. Any help is appreciated. I have even compared to another DB I did that works just not with vehicles though.
