I have a really simple piece of cose to open a form....

Private Sub Command26_Click()

    DoCmd.OpenForm "SSP - Employee Details", acNormal, "", "", , acNormal
    DoCmd.GoToControl "Surname"

End Sub

I have used this code for ages.  But now, suddenly,  I get the error Runtime Error '2501' The OpenForm action was cancelled.

The form that should be opened hasn't changed.  There are no events in the On Load, On Open or anything else on the forms properties.

I've tried deleting everything after the first acNormal but I get the same error and the form does not open.

This is driving me spare as I can't seem to find out what's causing this.

First, try putting your form name in square brackets. The spaces and hyphen might be causing problems. Second, if you don't need criteria, don't send empty strings, just leave them blank. Also, if the option is the DEFAULT, like acNormal, you don't need to bother specifying it.

Try just:

DoCmd.OpenForm "[SSP - Employee Details]"

See if that works.
