I implemented a secure environment to my database, therefore the user name will appear at the switchboar along with it user Id. I want to use the user name in a couple forms for example in a subform that i created for made comments the form came from a query that contain 4 fields: id, commentDate, Note and UserName.  I want the user prepolulated from the username came from the log in. I do enter the creteria [forms]![Switchboard]!Username however every time the query runs a windows appear asking about to enter parameter Forms!Switchboard!Username when they suposed to fill this filed with the username at the switchboard.   Any thought please

How are you storing UserName? I usually store it in a TempVars when the user logs in. Or store it in a Global Variable.

Alex Yes and help a lot, what happen is that even though I got the user name in the field this is not saved at the table.  The table consist on 4 columns where an username is part of there.  I could resolve the field User name show the username loged on the login form by entering in Control source TempVars=("UserName") but i want to show it and also save in the table.  What you recommend me to do?
