Dont Have a Problem Just Knowledge Question
Lee Shastid

Just for knowledge not issues with this at all working. Checking if I have something wrong. In this DB I have 2 tables. 1 is for Card Info and the other is Player Info. This continuous form is for the card list. You can see the there are blanks with no card info in those, but the card player info is filled in because the players are added. Should this show in the card list like this or not populate until all the card info is entered also? screenshot attached. Thank you

That would depend on your join type. If you have an inner join, which is the default, then you're only going to see records where there's both a card and a player. It looks like you've got an outer join, so that you're seeing all of the players whether or not there's a card.

Gotcha....Does it hurt anything like that?

The main reason I ask is I thought about the joins and I tried all 3 options and they all had the same results. They all appeared like that.

No, if you're fine with those results, that's fine. It's going to show you players that don't have cards. If you want to only players who have cards, then switch it to an inner join. If not, then if that's what you want, then leave it like that.

I have switched the joints, but it don’t change it

Okay Richard. You got me wondering what I did. Like I said I can deal with it, but I would like to know what I did or didn't do correct for future references. Here are 3 shots of the relationships with the different joins and also shot of the list after those changes.

Just so you know what I did also. I deleted all data from the PlayerT and CardT, ran Compact & Repair and started over at entering the data. (part of it anyway)

Lee , The outer join going from [PlayerT].[PlayerID] to [CardT].[PlayerID], in your query, is the one Richard was referring to.  If you change that one, you should get only records that have cards and players.

Matt Thank you very much. That solved it. I was changing it in the relationships screen instead of going through the QBE. I am trying to better understand this area of access.

Thank you. I apologize for taking up so much of everyone's time and space on this forum. I forgot all about the QBE.

Thank you and I watched the video. Least I know my question that caused so many headaches to some people was beneficial.
