Excel 365 Note Field Info
Jeffrey Gehr

I am working on a project to convert a large Excel worksheet, actually 2 worksheets, into an Access database. In my Excel worksheet, I used the notes fields (used to be comment boxes) to put machine brand/model and serial number information that related to the customer row for a request a customer was making to order parts for the machine. Is there a way to read out those note boxes information into Excel columns so that I can then work to using that info in a machine table in my Access database that then will be tied to the customer with those various machines? I hope I said that clearly. I just don't want to have to go through some 10,000 rows of Excel, open the note box, and copy out the info manually... Ugh... Please someone tell me it is possible to read it out more automatically, then clean it up once it's in Excel columns or?? Thank you so much to all that can provide help on this!

Jeffrey I actually had a client with this exact problem a few years back. Let me see if I can dig up the code I wrote to extract those comments. Give me a little bit. In the mean time, if you can post a screen shot of your sheet so I can see what it looks like, that would help.

Oh, and lay off the CAPSLOCK key. You typed your whole post in ALL CAPS. Fortunately, I've got a button that can fix that, but naughty naughty.

Here you go. I cover how to do it in the Extended Cut for Comments & Notes complete with the VBA source code in the Code Vault.
